anyone remember me?!!
I had a great week. I have awesome professors, and I also made wind symphony (despite a terrible placement audition)! Now.. the food..
The cafeteria food is just godawful. Luckily, in the other building, there is a big cafeteria with substantial food (rotisserie chicken, not junky processed salad chicken). There are a multitude of food trucks from crepes to gyros to korean food to cookies. With all these food choices, it’s difficult to find things with no wheat, but not impossible!
For breakfast I eat hard boiled eggs with whatever breakfast meat (sausage or bacon usually) and for lunch I grab a salad with grilled chicken. For dinner, I might have some rotisserie chicken/broccoli/potatoes. I keep string cheese and greek yogurt/honey and nuts in my room for snacking.
I’ve been really tired lately, so I’m not sure if I’ve been eating enough. It may be because of that and also because I haven’t exercised all week since I was getting used to college life. Or maybe my classes are mentally draining. Hmm.. either way, I feel well rested now and I’m excited to be going to the beach for the weekend!
Last night, I started to get a sore throat.. ahh! It’s the only symptom I have and I’m starting to worry if it’s strep throat. I move into my dorm on thursday, and I have placement auditions on Monday.. AHH!! I have no appetite to eat anything really because it hurts so much. :( I went to dim sum this morning with my mom and grandma.
Intake so far:
It was okay, except for the greasy fried rice (at least I only had a 1/2 bowl) and the piece of pork. There was no cake either, so ya! I stayed within my 1 coffee limit too. I may or may not have a salad with a hard boiled egg later, depending on how I feel.
Today’s my (chinese) grandma’s birthday, as well as her birthday dinner!! You know what that means. People trying to stuff each other with food. And most possibly cake.
Here’s my goals for today:
*I’m trying to cut my coffee addiction. I’ve been drinking 2+ glasses lately, so I’m going to do only 1 for a week or so. I’ve also cut it to decaf! Getting thereee.
I think my next goal is to give up sugar (added sugar) and coffee.. I drank so much coffee today and I feel sooo sick. I love coffee, but it’s not worth the gross feeling, sludgy tiredness, and teeth staining! Has anyone cut out coffee and/or sugar? Got any tips? Anyone want to do it together? :)
I went to MD to visit a friend for a couple days, and we basically lived in chips and junk food and restaurant food because their car was broken into and they had no food. I felt so sick, and my allergies even flared up very bad to the point where I was wheezing. I usually never have allergies, and I definitely account it to our lack of sleep and poor eating. But I’m back home eating real food again!
I just volunteered myself to take my friend (she’s a junior in HS) up to NYC to see a concert, visit Juilliard, and go to various places. Uhhhh. Wait a minute.. I haven’t used a subway since I was 4, and I am taxi-phobic. O. *btw I’m from Philly*
Oh well, this will be a fun adventure that’ll be good for me! RIGHT?
*TBH I am scared of getting kidnapped by the dancing and singing hobos on the subway*
*I am also mega excited to visit Juilliard*
-Relevant to fitness- We will be walking a ton to save taxi/subway money. BOOYAH
